O-Shot and ThermiVa – What You Should Know
ThermiVa and O-shot, or Orgasm Shot, are both non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation procedures that can improve the signs of aging or the changes that come with childbirth and help increase sexual satisfaction by tightening the skin and restoring elasticity.
Why are these treatments so popular?
Childbirth, aging, and wide fluctuations in weight can cause vaginal skin laxity that impacts the appearance and sensation of the inner and outer lips of the vagina, as well as lubrication or lead to urinary incontinence. The resulting conditions can be a source of lack of confidence, reduced quality of life, and discomfort. Although in different ways, both ThermiVa and O-shot treatments can improve these issues and help restore the appearance, responsiveness, and comfort and control of the area. They can be used in combination.
How does ThermiVa work?
ThermiVa uses radiofrequency energy to stimulate the growth of new collagen both inside and outside the vagina. A handheld wand, specially designed in a slightly S shape to suit the contours of the area, is inserted into the vagina. This delivers the heat of the radiofrequency device to the inner tissues, increasing blood flow and stimulating natural collagen production.
How long does a ThermiVa treatment take?
The treatment takes about 30 minutes, and there is no downtime. Results are immediate and improve as the weeks pass, and sexual activity can be resumed the same day. It usually requires three treatments, scheduled a month apart, for immediate tightening of the tissues, as well as longer-term stimulation of natural collagen growth for restored, firmer, vaginal tissue, with the added benefit of treating minor incontinence problems.
How does an O-shot work?
An O-shot uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to generate the formation of new cells and rejuvenate skin and tissue. Platelets are one of the three components of blood, along with red and white blood cells. They carry natural growth factors that help heal damaged cells.
How long does an O-shot treatment take?
It takes approximately 40 minutes for a physician to:
- Draw your blood.
- Centrifuge it to separate the platelets out.
- Reinject it into the vagina to stimulate vaginally activated orgasm as well as the intensity of pleasure in intimacy.
Patients can return to normal activities immediately, and full results are generally seen within about three months. It can take up to three treatments to achieve the desired level of results, and most patients repeat the procedure annually, or every 6 to 18 months, depending upon individual need.
