The brow lift, also sometimes referred to as a forehead lift, can have a striking impact on facial rejuvenation – and does not involve a long recovery.

The face is where we create our initial impressions of a person. Do they look healthy, lively, tired, older, angry or sad? It’s all in the face and much of it is focused on the eyes and the eyebrows. When we age, our brows tend to sag downward and even the most upbeat expression is marred by an unintended tired or angry look. If this is your case, a brow lift can produce a dramatic improvement in your look.

Types of Brow Lift Techniques

Flawless Aesthetic Center is the premier skincare medspa in Nigeria. Our mission is to provide the most skilled and experienced technical skill available anywhere in the world. Our surgeons know that small changes can have big results and that each patient’s needs are unique. You are treated as the unique individual you are, with a custom brow lift suited.

Depending upon your goals, your surgeon may apply one or more specific techniques. For example:

  • Endoscopic brow lift. Using a small endoscope to see underlying muscles and tissues via a series of small incisions, the forehead skin is lifted and anchored in place with sutures.
  • Coronal brow lift. An incision is made behind the hairline across the top of the head and extending from ear to ear. After the lift, sutures are applied in such a way as to hide the scars behind the hairline.
  • Hairline brow lift. For people with high, receding hairlines, this technique does not require the hairline to be pulled back.

How Long Does It Take to Recover from a Brow lift?

Pain or discomfort from a brow lift is usually reported as minimal with a fairly quick recovery. If staples are used because of proximity to the hairline, they will come out in about 5-7 days. Any discomfort or tightness should disappear within a few days of the surgery without the need for prescription medications. Normally, patients should be able to return to work within a week, sometimes less. Strenuous activity, gym workouts or sports should be put on hold for three to four weeks to help ensure complete recovery without complications.

What is the Brow Lift Procedure?

  • Anesthesia is administered. Depending upon what you and your doctor have agreed upon, and the type of brow lift being done, you may have either intravenous sedation or general anesthesia.
  • Incisions are made depending upon the type of brow lift you are getting.
  • The brow lift is performed, and the incisions closed with either removable or absorbable sutures or special clips or adhesives, depending on the length and number of incisions that have been made.
  • You will be sent home the same day after you recover from the anesthesia but will need to be driven by a friend or family member. You will be given instructions on healing procedures that should be followed closely to prevent complications and to ensure a speedy recovery.
  • Results should appear in a few weeks after any bruising and swelling has disappeared. You may see smoother forehead skin and a brighter, more youthful look to your face.
