Are You a Good Candidate for a Facelift?
While individual considerations may vary, the most common attributes for an ideal facelift patient are
the following:
- Physically healthy. Heals well. No outstanding medical conditions that would complicate recovery.
- Well established healthy lifestyle in terms of diet and exercise. Non-smoker.
- Realistic expectations. Understands what a facelift can and cannot do.
- Willing to closely follow the doctor’s recovery plan designed for optimum recovery time and minimum complication.
How Long Does Recovery Take?
Recovery is in stages. For the first few days you will rest and apply cooling pads to reduce swelling. After
a week, your stitches will likely be removed. The timeline to being presentable in public depends upon
the degree of bruising and swelling but typically is about two weeks. However, full recovery with
maximum results may take a few months.
